GES Jr. Show Team!
Even the youngest or most novice of riders can enjoy the benifits of showing...
Jr. Show Team is for riders ages 4 to 11 who love horses, are comfortable sitting on a horse and would like to see what it's like to participate in an out of barn horse show but are not quite ready for jumping yet. This is a GREAT way to introduce riders into the rewarding world of horse showing!
There are three different levels for Jr. Show Team Members.
Leadline: Riders who have very little experience. Must be able to sit up tall on their horse, hold their reins and talk with the judge about their pony.
Walk-Trot: Riders who have at least 6 months of consistent lessons and understand their posting trot, sitting trot & 2-point.
Walk-Trot-Canter: Riders who have at least 3 months of consistent canter lessons and can canter in a group.
- Shows take place year round. Talk with Robyn about location and dates.
- Most classes are only held on one day so costs are very low.
- Riders don't need super fancy outfits. Jodhpurs, paddock boots, half-chaps or garters, barn show type shirt (or turtle neck and sports coat) are ok for most of these shows. Riders should have these items from lessons.
