NEW in 2018!
If you have CITed for any camp at GES & are currently enrolled in lessons you are eligible to register for this week long clinic. Be prepared to ride up to 3 hours per day as you will put in at least 10 to 12 hours of saddle time in this clinic.
Clinic days are 8am to 5:00pm.
Monday - Everything Trail
Trail Riding & everything related to riding on trails from safety to horse care. (3 hour trail ride)
Tuesday - Show Jumping
Setting up a jumper course, how to ride it, practicing jumper skills, what problems a course asks with how it is set-up, tack that jumper riders use, types of jumper classes.
Wednesday - Trail Riding II (at Kensington Metro Park)
More trail riding and practicing everything that you learned earlier in the week for trail riding and trail safety. This will be an all day activity with a lunch break on the trail. (approx. 4 hours of riding)
Thursday - Gaming/Gymkhana
Riding in pairs, barrel racing, relay races, trail courses and more!
Friday - Western
Everything about basic western from different disciplines to tacking up to walk-trot & lope.
When not in the saddle you will have your horse as well as 2 to 3 others you will be responsible for throughout the clinic week.
GENERAL DAILY SCHEDULE:
8am - Horsecare
9am - Grooming & Tacking up
9:30am - Riding
11:30 - Untacking & Horsecare
12:30 - LUNCH & relax time
1:30 - Mounted activity
3:00 - Tack cleaning
3:30 - Finish up daily horse care & prep dinner
4:00 - Snack & Game (if time)
Clinic cost for the week is $400
Maximum number of participants is 6 so sign up early! Minimum of 4 participants to run this clinic.
